Terms & Conditions

This website is operated by The Lamp Atelier. Throughout the site, the terms we, us and our refer to The Lamp Atelier. By visiting our website and/or purchasing something from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, including our Return Policy, Cancellation Policy, Shipping and Order Info and Privacy Policy, which form part of these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully before accessing or using our website. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the website or place an order.

Article 1 - Definitions

  • Consumer: a natural person who is not acting in the course of a profession or business.
  • Business: The Lamp Atelier, offering products remotely.
  • Distance contract: a contract concluded using remote means of communication (the website).
  • Product: any lamp, light fixture, part or accessory offered on the website.

Article 2 - Applicability

These Terms apply to every offer, order and distance contract between The Lamp Atelier and the consumer. Deviations are only valid if agreed in writing.

Article 3 - The Offer and Product Information

We make every effort to describe our products accurately. However:

  • Product images are indicative. Colors, finishes and the warmth or brightness of light may differ depending on screen settings, photography lighting, bulb used and production batch.
  • Dimensions, weights and cable or chain lengths may vary slightly (up to 5%) from the stated measurements.
  • Decorative items (furniture, bulbs, plants, surroundings) shown in images are not included unless stated.
  • Light bulbs are not included unless explicitly stated on the product page.
  • Obvious errors in pricing, descriptions or availability are not binding, and we may cancel and refund any order placed on the basis of such an error.

Article 4 - The Contract

The contract is concluded when the consumer completes checkout and we send the order confirmation. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example in case of suspected fraud, an undeliverable address, a pricing error or unavailability, in which case any payment is refunded.

Article 5 - Prices and Payment

All prices are in US dollars. Prices include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Promotions, discount codes and compare-at prices may change or end at any time without notice. Payment is due in full at checkout. Discount codes cannot be applied after an order is placed.

Article 6 - Delivery

Orders are delivered within 30 days unless otherwise agreed. Delivery times stated on the website are estimates and not guaranteed. We are not liable for delays caused by carriers, customs, weather, strikes or other circumstances outside our control. Risk of loss passes to the consumer when the carrier marks the package as delivered. See our Shipping and Order Info for full details.

Article 7 - Right of Withdrawal

The consumer may withdraw from the contract within 30 days after receiving the product, under the conditions set out in our Return Policy. The product must be unused, uninstalled, never connected to electricity, complete and in its original packaging. Return shipping costs are borne by the consumer unless the product is defective or incorrect.

Article 8 - Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal is excluded for:

  • Lamps that have been installed, hardwired, mounted, connected to a power source, modified, cut, shortened or rewired
  • Custom-made, made-to-order or personalized products
  • Light bulbs, LED modules, consumables and accessories once opened
  • Products whose packaging or protective materials have been removed or damaged beyond what is necessary to inspect the product

Article 9 - Installation and Electrical Safety

  • Hardwired lamps (ceiling lights, pendant lights, chandeliers, wall lights, outdoor lights) must be installed by a licensed electrician in accordance with local electrical codes. Installation by anyone else is at the consumer's own risk.
  • Always switch off the power at the circuit breaker before installation.
  • Use only the bulb type and maximum wattage indicated on the product. Check dimmer compatibility before use; not all lamps are dimmable and not all dimmers are compatible with LED.
  • Make sure ceilings, walls and mounting surfaces can safely carry the weight of the fixture. Heavy chandeliers may require additional support.
  • Indoor lamps must not be used outdoors or in bathrooms, saunas or other humid areas unless the product page states a suitable IP rating.
  • Keep lamps away from flammable materials and do not cover them.

The Lamp Atelier is not liable for any injury, fire, electrical damage, property damage or other loss resulting from incorrect installation, incorrect use, incompatible bulbs, dimmers or wiring, overloading, or failure to follow the instructions and these Terms.

Article 10 - Warranty

We guarantee that products are free from manufacturing defects at the time of delivery. Warranty claims must be reported within 7 days of delivery (transport damage within 48 hours) with photos or video. The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused during or after installation, or by incorrect installation
  • Damage caused by incorrect bulbs, wattage, voltage, dimmers, power surges or external electrical faults
  • Normal wear, discoloration, patina, oxidation or fading of materials over time
  • Damage from moisture, outdoor use of indoor products, heat, chemicals or abrasive cleaning
  • Light bulbs and other consumables
  • Minor variations in color, finish, size or light output as described in Article 3

In case of a valid claim we will, at our choice, send a replacement part, send a replacement product or issue a refund. Any further liability is excluded.

Article 11 - Complaints

Complaints must be reported by email within 7 days of delivery, with your order number and photos. We aim to respond within 2 business days. We will try to resolve every complaint in good faith; please contact us before opening a dispute with your bank or card provider. Chargebacks opened without contacting us will be contested with our order, delivery and communication records.

Article 12 - Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of The Lamp Atelier for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including electrician costs, installation costs, loss of use, or damage to walls, ceilings or other property.

Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
